I have a new to me brand to share with you today, Pep Nail Vibes! Meredith makes some really fun crellies, something that I personally enjoy, so I was thrilled to swatch her latest release. The Stargazer Collection is six polishes strong, all mimicking various aspects of our Solar System. Let’s take a look!
Right out the gate, we’re starting out with my favorite in this collection, Solar Systems! This is a blue-grey crelly base with copper shimmer and over 25 different types of planetary-colored glitters. The name paired with the color and variety of glitters works so perfectly here. It’s a polish I look forward to wearing again, with some complementary art! There is some bumpiness with the glitters, but this is smoothed off with a good topcoat. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
Solar Systems was meant to mimic the color and variety of all of the planets and moons in our solar system.
Next up, we have Horizon Line. This polish features a Prussian blue base with copper to gold shifting micro glitters, red and copper sparks, and rose gold micro flakes. Horizon Line has the most delicate features out of the six, with its flakes and glitters having an almost blushing, shimmery quality. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
Horizon Line was created to look like the bright blue of the horizon line peaking over the edge of planet earth from space.
This is Constellations, and this baby has a lot going on in a beautiful way! The polish has a black jelly base with a blending of blue and silver holographic. Also featured are a variety of silver holographic sparkles, flakes and glitters, blue holographic glitters in teal and bright electric blue. Meredith finishes this off with a dusting of blue sparks, and black and slate grey holographic glitters. This all sounds like a lot, but when you take a look at the pictures below, you will notice that all the glitters are on the smaller side and they do not overwhelm the base. As expected, there is a rough texture left after drying. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
This bright, blue beauty is The Astronomer! The Astronomer is a bright, ultramarine blue jelly with silver micro flakes, silver holographic hex glitters in different sizes, micro holographic glitters in silver and platinum. Topping this off are silver holographic mini star glitters. I love the star glitters in there; it really sells the galactic feel. The base is pretty translucent, allowing all the glitters to do their thing. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
Meteor Shower is a rich, inky blue base with copper shimmer, copper sparks, gold flakes, electric blue micro flakes and a bunch of orange, burnt orange and copper hex glitters. This is my second top pick from this collection; I really love the play between dark blue and copper here. I found the formula to be on the thicker side, while still workable. Although I didn’t, I would suggest a few drops of polish thinner for easier application. As expected, there is some bumpiness from the glitters. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
Meteor Shower was made to look like meteors flying through the night sky!
Finally, we have Super Nova! Super Nova features a dark purple base with indigo blue shimmer and rose pink micro flakes. Also included are a variety of glitters in neon purple, periwinkle, navy blue, wine, and charcoal with a sprinkle of black and red micro glitters. Again, Meredith manages to balance all of those elements nicely, without overwhelming the jelly base. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
This inspiration for Supernova an explosion of color and mystery in the night sky!
