Today, I’ll be sharing with you the latest collection from Painted Polish by Lexi! The Birds of a Feather collection features happy, jewel-toned shades which help bridge the gap between Summer and Fall. This five piece collection was inspired by the colorful world of our feathered friends and they are a fun mix of vibrance and texture!
Painted Polish – Birds of a Feather Collection
Fluff My Feathers
Starting this party off is Fluff My Feathers. One of Lexi’s signature flakie crellies. This one features purple, turquoise, and jade color-shifting flakes in a white crelly base. Everything lays down really well and the colors pop beneath the base. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
Party Fowl is bright and glimmering violet ultra holographic micro glitter. It is a full coverage glitter polish which can be brushed on. I decided to add on some light sponging to get it to that condensed look quicker. The holographic show is pretty strong but it shows up a bit demure on camera. There is a bit of texture left behind which is easily smoothed over with topcoat.
Here is Perfectly Plumed! This vibrant beauty is has a plum ultra holographic base pops of color from jewel-toned color-shifting flakes and galaxy holographic glitters. Perfectly Plumed applies with ease and everything lays nicely. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
Time for Toucan Tango! Toucan Tango is a bright turquoise ultra holographic micro glitter, with full coverage properties similar to Party Fowl. I approached the application in the same way I did with Party Fowl; with two coats then some light sponging. Once again, there is a bit of texture from the micro glitters. This is easily smoothed off by topcoat.
Pretty As A Peacock
Finally, we have the punchy topper, Pretty as a Peacock! This is a clear based topper that features a vibrant array of turquoise, green, and gold color-shifting flakes. I decided to show this two ways. First, as a topper wearing one coat over Deux 2.0 and then sponged on for full coverage on my ring and pinky fingers. In both cases, you can see the range of colors and how well the flakes lay down. There is little to no texture left behind with one coat, but there can be a bit more bumpiness with sponging.
