It’s Polish Pick Up time again! Thinking about how quickly the months are going by sets me in a panic, so let’s shelve that thought for 2 am pondering. The theme that won out for this round of the Polish Pick is 90’s Pop Culture! This is beyond perfect! Why? Because it’s gonna be May!! I was born in the 80’s but I consider myself a child of the 90’s so this theme makes me all kinds of giddy. Before I get carried away, let’s get caught up on what Polish Pick up is all about.
Polish Pickup is a fun Facebook Group where members submit and vote for one theme for the month. Afterward, indie makers create a polish or product based on the decided theme. Members can make purchases through the Polish Pickup website during the four-day shopping window, where you can pick as little or as many items as you desire. The flat rate shipping price of US $3.00/CAD $5.00 is the cherry on top. Evidenced by its rapid growth, PPU is a very clever concept that has introduced me to many new indie brands, as well as given a wider stage for smaller, well-loved ones.
I’m starting out with Lilly Anne’s Garden’s contribution, inspired by the television series My So Called Life; specifically, the character Rayanne Graff. I cannot say that I’ve had the pleasure of watching this show growing up, but like so many others I’ve discovered this month, it’s been added to my list!
Rayanne – Lotion
Lilly Anne’s Garden’s Rayanne is a luxuriously moisturizing lotion that absorbs quickly, leaving behind no greasy, oily heaviness. It is scented with tart green apple and gardenia which I surprisingly enjoyed. I’m not a big fan of floral scents at all, so I was a tad apprehensive about the gardenia scent, even though Misty mentioned that it wouldn’t be overpowering. It truly isn’t, but it is definitely noticeable. I found that the tartness of the apple very complimentary and cuts out what might have otherwise been too “stifling” on the floral front.
I have very dry skin, yet oiliness and shine show up really quickly on it. A little goes a long way with this lotion; just a swipe of my index being enough to sufficiently moisturize my hands without leaving it shiny.
