I’m wrapping up my busy 24 hours of blogging with October’s Holo Hookup Box! This one nudges a sentimental spot for me as one year ago would have been my very first time blogging for the Holo Hookup team. It has been a wonderful year since with every box being packed with, intrigue, excitement and holographic goodness. October’s theme is Fall Harvest and these polishes are blowing my Summer socks off! Are you ready?
Fall Harvest – Holo Hookup
The Holo Hookup is a monthly box that features three permanent makers. Sara of Cupcake Polish, Missi of Different Dimensions and Jill of Glisten & Glow invite another indie maker to create a polish to go along with a chosen theme. This month’s guest maker is Victoria of Blush Lacquers!
Cupcake Polish – Oh My Gourd
Oh! My! Gourd! Don’t cringe, I couldn’t help myself. But, seriously! Look at this olive beauty! Oh My Gourd is an olive green linear holographic brimming with silver, gold and bronze metallic flake. The application is smooth with a medium density and almost coming to opacity in one coat. There is the slightest it of bumpiness from the flakes but this smooths down easily. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
Playing off the name, I used this pumpkin image from Creative Stamping plate 91 and used polishes from this box to fill.
Different Dimension – Hay There!
Hay There! is a medium brown creme linear holographic with a stunning mix of UCC flakes, chameleon flakes, iridescent color shifting flakes, holographic micro glitters and micro flakes. It’s also adorned with aurora shimmer. The colors in this polish reminds me of the forest floor in its many shades of brown. Despite its many elements, its application is smooth and easy but does leave some texture after it dries. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
For this nail art, I used the Make Your Mark plate 08 from Lina Nail Art Supplies!
Glisten & Glow – Give ’em Pumpkin To Talk About
Jill has another super yummy one! Give ’em Pumpkin To Talk About is a burnt orange jelly linear holographic with UCC flakes that shift orange to red and purple to yellow, as well as holographic flakes. It also has a glow from red aurora shimmer. Another great application here and I love how much density I was able to get from layering those flakes. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
I knew that I wanted to matte those flakies and zombie feet were the perfect excuse! This great image is from the Lina Make Your Mark 08 plate.
Blush Lacquer – Fleece’s Pieces
Victoria’s is Reece’s Pieces! A bold blue teal linear holographic base with violet to pink to gold to green iridescent flakes, holographic flakes and an accenting pink to gold to green shimmer. I enjoy the holographic shiftiness of this polish and just how vibrant it is. As with the others, the application was really easy and it dried down nice and smooth. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
Tell me! Can you see the skulls? Image is from my trusty Lina Make Your Mark 08 plate.
This color palette is so perfect for Fall!
