Happy Monday to you! I have a very fun six set from Sara of Cupcake Polish for you to look at today. Don’t ogle too long though as these will debut tonight. Let’s take a look at the Iceland Collection!
The Iceland Collection
Starting off is Blue Lagoon. This polish has the softest look of the set and features lots of flakie goodness. Blue Lagoon has a light blue jelly packed with blue to pink iridescent shimmer, blue to pink iridescent flakes as well as holographic micro flakes. The flakes here lay down well and generally stay put. Just be sure that the coats are sufficiently dry in between application to avoid dragging. I’m wearing three thin coats with a glossy topcoat.
Eldhraun was the very first polish I picked and wore! I mean, look at that green and shimmer. Eldhraun has a pea green crelly based mixed with blue to pink to gold shifting aurora shimmer. The shift here is just delightful and is very Spring-forward to me. Again, I will encourage you to allow the wear thin coats, and allow them to dry sufficiently in between. I’m wearing three thin coats with a glossy topcoat.
Give me a shift vamp and I’ll (most likely) be yours! Gullfloss shares the top stop with two other polishes in this collection for me. Yes, I’m having a hard time. This shade starts with a dark purple jelly base which is jam-packed with light seeking glitters and shimmer that shift from orange to gold to green. There is bumpiness due to the glitters, so a good topcoat is necessary. I’m wearing three thin coats and a glossy topcoat.
Aurora Borealis welcomes you to her flakie party! This one is the darkest of the set, giving the bold flakes in there a great spot to stand out. Aurora Borealis is described as black jelly brimming with teal to blue to purple to pink to gold shifting multichrome and iridescent flakes and holographic micro flakes. You can spot the shifts of pink gold at extreme angles. This applied pretty smooth for the most part with well behaved flakes. I’m wearing three thin coats with a glossy topcoat.
Lupine is my other favorite! I love how it sits on my skin without making my tone appear too “cool”. The base here is a cool purple to which a blue to green to gold shifting aurora shimmer has been added. I’m wearing 2-3 coats with a glossy topcoat.
Heart of Iceland
Wrapping this medley up is Heart of Iceland! Lawdamercy! I’m really feeling this one today. Heart of Iceland light red to orange shifting duochrome metallic foil polish. I really enjoy how the light catches this and allows it to shift so vibrantly. The foil pigment leave a very light texture behind which is smoothed easily with topcoat. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
The Iceland Collection will be available from January 27, 2020, at 7:00pm CDT from Cupcake Polish!
Price: $13.00 per polish
