The Holo Hookup September 2019 box is showing love to California, specifically, it’s magnificent coastline. I’m yet to tick Cali off my “Visited” list but these boxes always prove to be a fun journey. This month’s guest maker is from the California brand, Painted Polish! Let’s take a slow drive and enjoy the California Coastline!
The Holo Hookup is a monthly box that features three permanent makers. Sara of Cupcake Polish, Missi of Different Dimensions and Jill of Glisten & Glow invite another indie maker to create a polish to go along with a chosen theme. This month’s guest maker is Lexi of Painted Polish!
Cupcake Polish – Mermaids In Malibu
Sara greets us with another green! Mermaids in Malibu is a seafoam green linear holographic base with pink to red to gold to green shifting iridescent flakes and an aurora shimmer that moves red to orange to gold to green. The flakes almost have a peek-a-boo effect here with touch of warmth from the shimmer. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
I stamped using images from the Lina Born to Sail 02 plate.
Different Dimension – Lounging In Laguna Beach
Lounging in Laguna Beach is a peach cream linear holographic base with a warming gold shimmer. It does apply very creamy, leaning slightly on the thicker side but levels nicely. I was almost able to pass this off with one coat. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
After editing this, I noticed that it could pass as a Halloween mani! It’s coral, y’all! This image is from the Lina Born to Sail 02 plate.
Glisten & Glow – Surf’s Up In Santa Barbara
Here we have Surf’s Up In Santa Barbara. This is described as an amethyst toned silver linear holographic with a vibrant purple and red shifting shimmer. This shade is so shifty and ethereal with easy movement; it’s so pretty! The application is very smooth and easy. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
The bigger anchors are filled in with Sandbars in San Diego. The image is from the Lina Born to Sail 02 plate.
Painted Polish – Sandbars in San Diego
Lexi brings us Sandbars in San Diego. A sandy light brown holographic with some cobalt blue and red color-shifting metallic flakes and silver ultra holographic glitters. I love the mix of colors here; I have nothing like it in my collection. The polish does dry down slightly bumpy but smooths down well with topcoat. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
Yo-ho-ho! Again, I used my Lina Born to Sail 02 plate for these fun images.
The California Coastline awaits you!
