Francine of B Polished brings us the unlikely yet extraordinary duo of Lisa Frank and The Craft! Somewhere in Francine’s mind, these two meet, and I’m sure glad they did. The 90’s Pop Culture round of Polish Pickup is making all kind of dreams come true. Let’s quickly recap the concept of Polish Pickup then jump right into Francine’s two items.
Polish Pickup is a fun Facebook Group where members submit and vote for one theme for the month. Afterward, indie makers create a polish or product based on the decided theme. Members can make purchases through the Polish Pickup website during the four-day shopping window, where you can pick as little or as many items as you desire. The flat rate shipping price of US $3.00/CAD $5.00 is the cherry on top. Evidenced by its rapid growth, PPU is a very clever concept that has introduced me to many new indie brands, as well as given a wider stage for smaller, well-loved ones.

Punk Rock! Let’s Go
Let’s start with the nail polish. Punk Rock! Let’s Go is inspired by the movie, The Craft, specifically Nancy! My vampy heart weeps for this sexy shade! It is a jelly base in a 90’s brown leaning red with tons of multicolor flakes of various sizes and lots of holographic shimmer. It’s SO sparkly!
This was my first interaction with the brand and I was really pleased with the application of the polish. The flakes were abundant, easy to access and laid well when applied. This is three thinner coats with a glossy top coat.

Cupcake Squishy
I’m so giddy about this squishy! I’ve hidden it away from my kids because I know I probably wouldn’t ever see it again. And, they’d try to eat it which I wouldn’t blame them for; it smells ridiculously delicious! The “frosting” is scented as strawberry vanilla and is coated in some shifty neon glitter. There was very little transfer of the glitter on to my hand; I’d venture to say they were rogue ones rebelling against adhesion. Trust me, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t slowly covering myself in glitter!
The multichrome “cupcake liner” shifts from pink to purple to gold and is scented with chocolate. I found that the chocolate scent overpowered the lighter, strawberry vanilla making it the pretty much the only one I was able to sniff out.
The squishies are handmade from expanding polyurethane foam, making no two the same and keeping them indefinitely soft. It has a pleasant, giving, squish but doesn’t feel “bouncy” if that makes sense. Francine informs that they are shipped in a sealed bag and that the scent should last for about a month afterward.
Price and cap to be determined. Updates will be posted in the Polish Pickup Facebook Group
