Look who isn’t having a case of the Mondays! I’ve had a pretty productive day and I’m determined to get everything checked off my to-do list before I keel over tonight. The Holo Hookup June 2019 box is here to bring some fun and brightness to your life. This month, makers are taking you on a colorful trek through the Amazon Rainforest, and thankfully, you don’t need mosquito repellant to enjoy it. Before I get carried away, know that this box is not a preorder and will have limited stock. With that out of the way, let’s jump right in!
Amazon Rainforest – Holo Hookup
The Holo Hookup is a monthly box that features three permanent makers. Sara of Cupcake Polish, Missi of Different Dimensions and Jill of Glisten & Glow invite another indie maker to create a polish to go along with a chosen theme. This month’s guest maker is Patty of Indie by Patty Lopes. As previously mentioned, this month’s box will not carry the usual pre-order format but will have limited stock with sales open until supplies last. Let’s take a look!
Cupcake Polish – Heliconia
Heliconia is Sara’s contribution to the June Holo Hookup Box. I grew up with several different species of Heliconia in my childhood yard, so of course I was thrilled to see it’s bright namesake here. Heliconia is described as an orange leaning coral linear holographic with a bold gold shimmer. The gold shimmer comes off strongly here while allowing you to fully appreciate the holographic pop and pink undertones. As usual, a great formula and application. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
Different Dimension – Iguazu Falls
From Missi, we have Iguazu Falls! Iguazu Falls is a bold magenta linear holographic with iridescent flakes and aurora shimmer. Much to my surprise, this is my favorite from this box due to it’s bright yet warm disposition. Additionally, this came really close to one coat for me. If it wasn’t going to be subject to four bright lights and close up shots, I would easily wear it as one coat. The flakes in there are a lot more frequent than they appear in my pictures but they lay well and are easy to access. I’m wearing two coats with glossy topcoat in these photos.
Glisten & Glow – Under The Kapok Trees
Next up is Under The Kapok Trees from Jill. I grew up calling the Kapok tree a cotton tree based on the floating clouds of silky cotton that would escape its giant pods. The huge tree grew in one of our city gardens and collecting pieces of cotton was a fun way to pass time after school. Just the thought of it fills me with delight even now.
Under The Kapok Trees is a vibrant green holographic jelly filled with colorful iridescent flakes. The flakes in here easily steal the spotlight all because of that jelly base. While it is not my top pick, I am living for this green. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
Indie by Patty Lopes – Giant Lily Pad
Brazilian native, Patty brings us Giant Lily Pad. The base here is a teal to purple linear holographic duochrome which is accented by multichrome flakes and some bright turquoise micro flakes. Although the base is on the subdued side in comparison to the other three polishes, the flakes add an undeniable pop of color! Similar to the rest, this polish has an easy application and boasts well behaved flakes. I’m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
I feel like the color palette in this box was made for me! The colors are nice and bold, edging right into Summer neon territory.
Once again, this box will not be a preorder!
There will be a limited number of boxes prepared and will be available for purchase while shocks last.
