Hello, hello! I can’t believe it’s only a handful of sleeps before Christmas! I’m not as excitable as Buddy the Elf (no one is), but I do love Christmas. It’s one of the bigger holidays celebrated back in St Lucia. While I don’t go as crazy in celebrating it as we normally would have back home, but it’s one that I look forward to the most. We opt for close family time and endless lounging and eating.
I have a few catch-up posts to do and I’m starting off with an eight-piece collection from MDJ Creations! This is a new to me brand but I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve been exposed to so far. Let’s take a look at The Phantom of the Opera Remix!
Melissa released the first version of this collection a few years ago in 2014. This new release carries the same names but the formula and shades, from what I can see are different. If you’ve had the first collection, it definitely wouldn’t hurt at all to get this one!
Melissa was also kind enough to send me a bottle of her quick dry topcoat, Smooth Finish Fast Dry topcoat. I used this glossy topcoat in all of these photos.
Starting things off is Masquerade! Masquerade is a flake-filled topper with a colorful mix of iridescent flakes and holographic sparkle. I’m wearing one coat over a black polish which really shows off the variety of colors. The flakes are pretty plentiful and lay well. Here, it’s topped with a glossy topcoat.
The Phantom is a black-based holographic accented with red shimmery flash. The consistency of the polish here is very good and it applies with ease. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
Point Of No Return
Point of No Return is a warm red holographic with a bright red flame. There’s a little bit of a texture left behind after drying, but it is quickly smoothed over. Here, I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
Think Of Me
Next up, Think of Me! This here is a violet holographic with shifts toward pink. The formula here is fantastic and applies nearly in one coat. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
Christine is a deeper, cooler violet holographic than the previous Think Of Me. The shift here has a purple hue which solidifies the difference between the two. Again, there’s a bit of a texture which eases away after topcoat. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
Music Of The Night
How gorgeous is Music Of The Night?! It’s sporting some multichrome properties with the shift of teal to blue to purple. The shift is effortless and despite my love for vampy shades, it might be my favorite from the set. I’m wearing two coats with a glossy topcoat.
All I Ask Of You
All I Ask Of You has a pretty ethereal look to it. The base is a soft, icy blue with an accented shimmer in violet. All I Ask Of You had the lightest of the formulas and had a bit of the syrupy, jelly feel to it. I”m wearing three coats with a glossy topcoat.
Angel Of Music
Wrapping things up is the sparkly Angel Of Music! Angel of Music is a silver holographic micro glitter in a clear base. Here, I’m wearing three coats and although you can still see the base of the nail through it, I quite like the look. It could definitely be used as a topper. Again, it dries to with a bit of shimmer, I’m wearing a glossy topcoat to smooth it out.
